We are boutique cigar smokers through and through. If you cut us with a knife…we “bleed” boutique.
But every once in a while, we get a chance to try a more traditional brand…and some of them really impress us.
Such is the case with HOYO DE TRADICION. These are both beautiful AND tasty!
Hoyo de Tradición cigars were created to honor the history of Hoyo de Monterrey, one of the oldest and most respected cigar brands in the world.
Wrapper is Honduran Habano from the Jamastran Valley, fillers are an elegant mix of Dominican Piloto Cubano, Nicaraguan Ometepe, Honduran. And the kicker is the Connecticut Habano binder. (Who does this?)
These are box-pressed and come in gorgeous 25-Count boxes.
Full-bodied, medium-strength. Flavor are elegant with notes of semi-sweet chocolate, milk, aged leather, earth, black pepper, sugar cane, baked bread, black tea, cedar, and toasted peanuts.
No wonder it got a 91-RATING from Cigar Aficionado and made its Top 25 List (#23)!
A little outfit like CigFed can only get a few boxes of cigars like these at a time. We’re a very tiny boutique fish swimming in the big pond that is the cigar industry.
