MURCIELAGO  literally means “bat” in Spanish, and it’s a fitting title for one of the most beloved blends from Erik Espinosa.

Here's your history lesson for the day...

First released back in 2009 under EO Brands, Murciélago quickly developed a cult following among cigar smokers who love bold, rich, unapologetic flavor. When Espinosa later launched Espinosa Cigars, the blend was refined and brought fully under his brand...eventually landing in Nicaragua where it continues to be produced today.

And the Robusto size we have might be the sweet spot of the entire line.

At roughly 5 inches with a 52-ish ring gauge, the Murciélago Robusto delivers a dense, concentrated smoking experience that lets the blend show off everything it’s capable of.

It features a dark Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper sits on top of a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan long-fillers. And it's full-bodied, med/full-strength.

Flavors are BIG! Right off the light, Murciélago punches the palate with black pepper and roasted espresso. The smoke is thick, chewy, and full-bodied, coating the mouth with dark, earthy tobacco. As the cigar settles in, the profile begins to round out and the sweetness from the San Andrés wrapper starts to shine through.

Notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, and roasted coffee begin weaving into the mix, balanced by earthy tobacco and charred oak. Every once in a while you’ll catch a subtle sweetness that feels like raisin or maple, adding a layer of complexity that keeps the cigar from ever feeling one-dimensional.

Last third, the spice backs off just enough to let the richness take center stage. The flavors deepen, the smoke gets even creamier, and the cigar settles into that perfect maduro rhythm—earth, cocoa, espresso, and wood all working together.
