This is one of our favorite cigars of all time!

The level of richness, complexity, balance, and flavors are the stuff of legend. There are a lot of great boutique cigars out there...but this blend is just on a whole other level.

The Tabernacle, originally released at the 2016 IPCPR tradeshow, is a super premium cigar release from Foundation Cigar Co. It features a beautiful Connecticut Broadleaf for the wrapper, a tobacco that owner Nicholas Melillo absolutely loves.

This combination of tobaccos creates a full-bodied, medium-full strength cigar, with notes of earth, red pepper, cedar and milk chocolate, espresso, cane sugar, buttercream, and toasted nuts.

Any respectable boutique cigar connoisseur has a box of these in their cabinet humidor. They are phenomenal!

The Tabernacle: God May Not Reveal Itself While Smoking This Cigar, But...

"I rarely buy a box of cigars; the last box I purchased was over four years ago and it cost a whopping $150.00. For a cheapskate like me to fork over $299.00 either means I'm exhibiting signs of early-onset Alzheimer's or the experience of smoking the cigar was a uniquely exquisite one. I'm hoping it was the latter. I found out about Foundation Cigars, "The Tabernacle" through my favorite cigar maven, Phil Kohn, better known as The Katman. If you love to laugh out loud and love rock and roll you'll do yourself a favor and check out his reviews. I took Phil's advice and ordered a narrower gauge than the doble corona he reviewed and bought a five pack of the lanceros. There seems to be a strong connection to when you'll experience the full flavor of a cigar and its gauge; the narrower gauges like the corona and the lancero are supposed to hit their mark earlier than their wider cousins. The verdict is still out for me on this one but The Katman thinks it's so and he's smoked thousands of cigars. A cautionary note: If you're expecting an expansive draw-by-draw account of my smoking experience, you're going to be disappointed. I have neither the experience smoking nor the developed palate to go into florid detail of all the flavors revealed to me and the types of fruit it reminds me of. However, I know what I'm looking for in a stick- good, solid construction, a fairly decent burn line and most importantly, the overall sense I have of its flavor. There has to be a touch of sweetness in the background to go along with a delicious tobacco richness that puts a smile on my face. That's all I got, folks, and in the aforementioned flavor department, The Tabernacle delivers in spades. So who cares that I went into further debt by acting on this impulse to buy a box: I am going to be rewarded 24 times for this impulse and the pleasure it brings will linger for over an hour each stick. Nice rationale, me thinks, yes? This has become my favorite smoke and I'm like a kid waiting for my decoder ring to arrive in the mail- Hurry, please, I'm down to one lancero!"

Quickly becoming my designated special reward

"This cigar blew me away so much so, that I've scoured the web to pick over what's left to stock in my humidor for my occasional personal reward smokes. The only caveat is it's strength. I personally need to make sure I've eaten well before I smoke this one. This cigar tastes wonderful right now but I also feel this cigar will definitely benefit even more with some age on it. I especially love this cigar in the toro size."

Tasty Broadleaf

"These are my kind cigars. Easily one of the best cigars I've smoked this year."
