Nicholas Melillo of Foundation Cigar Co. introduces the Charter Oak. A budget minded and flavorful cigar, meant to pay tribute to his Connecticut heritage. It is named after a tree in Hartford which is believed to have stood since the 12th century, until a storm took it down in the 1850's.
The cigar though, comes in either a Connecticut Shade or Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. Both have Nicaraguan filler from Esteli & Jalapa, with a Sumatra binder on the Shade and a Nicaraguan Habano binder on the Broadleaf. And with a price tag that is next to impossible to argue with.
