"I was dying to try the the Caldwell The King is Dead, and decided to purchase a fiver in the vitola of Torpedo "Last Payday". I was very impressed with the construction and draw after my initial cut and light. The smoke output and aroma were also to my liking and then the taste. I enjoyed the different nuances I picked up throughout my smoke. I'm definitely glad I picked up a fiver and will continue to enjoy these smokes."

"A lot of good cigars take a few minutes before their character begins. I knew this cigar was special as soon as the cedar flame touched the leaf. The negrito wrapper is unique and aromatic. I'm not a leather, coffee, nuts and wood kind of reviewer however I do know GOOD. And I will buy them again. Firm, oily, even burn, full but not heavy, fair price."

"A nice enough looking stick, it starts out very mild with a mild tobacco sweetness and a soft creamy cedar taste with a sometimes note of veg or fruit on the retrohale. The 2nd third is stronger now a solid medium in strength and the sweetness is tapered off and replaced with a strong white pepper which shows on the finish, and don’t try retrohaling now unless you like trying to pour hot sauce threw your nose; it burns! In the final 3rd the cedar taste lost its cream and went very woody and bitter and with the pepper it was too much for me so I put it down. If you like pepper this might be a better match for you than me."
